Eisley Mae: Five Months Old

Man, my sweet little girl is growing so fast. I can’t believe that come January 15th she will be one half of a year old. I am getting choked up just thinking about it. She can sit up now without support and loves to play with things this way. She’s doing really well grabbing things with her pointer and thumb and bringing them to her mouth because, well, that’s where everything goes these days. We’ll be starting offering her more as we’re doing BLW, and I’m excited to see how she fares with it. She HATES laying down. She prefers to be on her tummy playing or sitting up. It’s been quite rare lately that she will want to play on her back. She officially crawled on all fours, but after doing it for mom a few times, decided to revert back to her usually crawling with her butt in the air and head on the floor. She’ll get it eventually.

The boppy has retired to her bedroom. I’ve set her in it on her belly a few times, but she just crawls over it, so I think that it’s reached the end of it’s life as far as practical use is concerned. She will reach for me now when she wants me, which is a lot lately because teething has been kicking or butts! She’s also been playing with consonant sounds A LOT lately. Lots of mmm, nah’s and da’s. When she is really upset she’ll mix those sounds with lots of raspberries and though we feel horrible we can’t help but laugh at her a little because it’s ADORABLE!

It blows my mind how much she’s grown this past month alone. I see her transforming from less of a baby into more of a little girl. Trust me, I’ve shed my fair share of tears over it. I just can’t believe how quickly time has flown since I held her in my arms for the first time. What a whirlwind.
