Adventures in Cloth Diapering: Our Favorite Products

We love cloth diapering, that’s no secret. When I first decided to cloth diaper my researched helped me realize that there was more to cloth diapering than just buying the diapers. Subsequently I fell in love with some cloth diapering products. What can I say, we love saving money! These are some of our favorite products.

Planet Wise Pail Liner

We decided to invest in a couple of Planet Wise Pail liners after we wasted our money on Alva pail liners. I’ll tell you what, we babied our Alva liners, washing them on as delicate a wash as we could and hanging them to dry and it didn’t do a lick of good because after only a couple months the lining inside was in pieces. What can I say, you get what you pay for. Any who, we have two of these and LOVE them. We haven’t had a single problem with either of them and their so easy to use. I know a lot of mommies with Ubbis love this liner as well.

CJ's BUTTer® Original Formula 8 oz pot (Monkey Farts scent)

CJ’s is by far my favorite diaper cream of all time. We’ve also used it on dry skin and it works wonders. We keep a huge tub of the unscented on hand at home for diaper changes.

CJ's All Natural Original BUTTer Stick (Unscented, Large 2oz)

We have the CJ BUTTer stick in our diaper bag and it’s AWESOME. Instead of having to glob it all over my hand we just remove the cap and swipe it on straight from the stick and pop the lid back on. Best invention ever.

Skip Hop Grab & Go Wet/Dry Diaper Bag, Chevron

We actually don’t have this yet, but it’s going on my wishlist. Our Alvas wet bags, like all of our other Alva products SUCK. We’ve been using the Alvas wet bags and the insides are in pieces just like the inside of our pail liners were. This wet bag looks a-freaking-mazing so I will be investing in it soon.

Nellie's All Natural Laundry soda, 100 Load Tin, NLS-100T, 3.3 Pound

When I first started researching cloth diapering we found a million different sources with a million different opinions on what detergent to use to wash cloth diapers. We decided on Nellies which worked great on it’s own for a while. Unfortunately, we have really hard water which causes build up over time, so eventually the Nellie’s wasn’t doing the job all on it’s own. Now we use the Nellie’s as a prewash and use a Free and Clear detergent to wash our diapers and it seems to be working really well for us! I still love Nellie’s though and it’s a great prewash. And the tins are super cute.
